SUPREME STREET WALKING: PEDESTRIAN PLAZA KO'D IS NP PIAZZA!

A Pedestrian Plaza that was planned for 34th between 5th and 6th Ave's have be dismissed.
According to the Daily News "Bowing to public pressure the city  Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday its scuttling the no-car plaza between 5th and 6th Aves but not the overall effort to make changes on 34th street." However, over the summer the DOT plans to make short-term changes on 34th but adding off fare collection buses on 34th street. If the changes were implement motorists would have to deal with one way traffic instead of the usual two way traffic. Area residents and business owners were up in arms claiming that the bus lanes would create a gridlock to access their businesses and buildings and the sides sides would be jammed with cars trying to get across town.
